The DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe)

Key DREAMS Interventions:

 

  1. Provides regular and accessible HIV testing and counseling services to AGYW.

       2.Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP): Offering to AGYW who are at high risk of contracting HIV.

  1. : Providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education to AGYW.
  2. Safe Spaces:

Establishing “safe spaces” where AGYW can access SRH services in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. These spaces also offer information and support on issues like gender-based violence (GBV).

  1. Economic Empowerment:

 Supports AGYW in acquiring vocational skills and education that enhance their employability and economic independence. Training programs include tailoring, hairdressing.

  1. Life Skills Training:

Training programs focus on building resilience, self-esteem, and decision-making skills among AGYW, helping them to avoid risky behaviors and make healthier choices.

7.School-Based Interventions:

In collaboration with schools, DREAMS implements programs that focus on keeping girls in school, preventing early pregnancies, and reducing school dropouts, which are key risk factors for HIV.
